Four Months with Kontera: Do In-Text Ads Work?
It has now been rougly four months since I started serving Kontera’s In-Text ads on CyberWyre and think that it’s about time that I review my experience with them so far.
Overall, my experience with Kontera has been very positive. I was impressed right from the start with their very personal support, which continued throughout the past four months. My personal account representative has called me a number of times to check on my status, and has always responded quickly to any questions or issues that I have had.
While great support certainly is a plus (has anyone successfully got personalized support from AdSense?) what really counts in the end is dollars. After running a report over the dates June 11 to October 16, 2006 my CTR is somewhere around 1.9% and eCPM is near $1.90. While Kontera ads are served contextually and these statistics are specific to my site, what this tells you is: the click-through-rate I am receiving is quite good, while the price-per-click is somewhat low (by these statistics, I am receiving roughly $0.10/click). In the end, this has translated to a couple of bucks per day extra in my pocket — not too much really.
Comparing Kontera with my other income source from CyberWyre, Text-Link-Ads, which is making over ten times that of Kontera monthly, there really is no comparison between the two. Click here to read my review of Text-Link-Ads.
Would I recommend Kontera? Yes, definitely, but keep a close eye on your earnings and remember that there may be an ad network that will better fit your content.
kontera imho sucks big time. very low revenues, very long code loading, often disappearing ads etc…
Kontera helps me a lot. It works very nice and also links resemble natural links. So the visitors clicks the ad frequently. Hats off to KONTERA!!!
I am having a mixed feeling about Kontera as soon as i started running Kontera, Adsense started doing smart pricing but i do not know if it is related.
Kontera is a great company with excellent support. The only drawback is the ad pool. you just cant get hit CPC with low competition. But still Kontera is worth the time simply because its so simple and inoffensive.
in line ads are great for boosting your overall earnings without ugly-fying your site with more obvious ads.
i use several on the “Super affiliates problog” and some tag cloud ads. work out as great boost to standard affiliate systems.
They never fail to deliver really targeted ads.
