Sold: AMGN @ 68.06; Bought QUIK @ 5.30

I have closed my position in Amgen for a very slight loss and picked up more QuickLogic @ $5.30/share. QuickLogic is the leader in low power VLSI design — the subject which I will be studying throughout my computer engineering masters degree.

Yup, I did.

Their new PolarPro line of FPGAs are excellent and have just recently gone into production this quarter. I expected this dip in earnings well in advance — QuickLogic was in a transition period, phasing out their old line of products and ramping up production of their new chip.

We’ll see soon how well they have fared soon however I don’t expect to see any real results until end of September.
