Drive Search Engine traffic to your site with News

Posted in Blogging for Profit at 10:44 am by admin

There is nothing like fresh content on your page to drive traffic. One problem with fresh content is that someone has to write it! Wouldn’t it be nice if you could develop a site which updates itself? Of all of my pages, my Top 15 Internet Searches page continually brings in new users from search results. Some of whom stay and browse my site, some of whom click a banner and never return. Either way, I’m happy. The best part of all is I haven’t touched that page in weeks – it is completely self-maintaining.

I have now simplified the script which I use myself and made it possible for anyone to make use of it. All that is necessary is to insert a few simple lines of JavaScript into their site or blog. Please refer to my Using the News Script page for installation details. Below is an example of what can be inserted into your own page. The Google link is customizable to point to your own AdSense account.

That’s a great script… but exactly where does it take people when they click on a keyword? i.e. I can see from viewing the source code of the resulting page that the adsense code is there, but – having never seen any script like this – I wonder whether it’s a violation of Adsense TOS ..?

Does it simply go to a results page similar to if someone typed a keyword into a google search box on your website (searching by ‘www’ as opposed to searching for the keyword on your site)?

Additionally, that script shows the top 15 searched phrases, is there also one for the top searched keywords (similar to your ‘Current Top 15 Internet Searches’ page?

Awesome script! I’m tempted to use it on my own site, but am hesitant (naturally) if it violates the Adsense TOS. Any insights?

Thanks in advance

Yeah I guess it was a violation because he changed it to yahoo ads now.

No, it’s not in violation. You are just linking to a Google search on those keywords with your publisher ID included. It’s the same as including an AdSense Google Search Box in your site.
